Expenso (“the Extension”) is a Chrome extension for personal expense and budget tracking. This policy explains what data is handled and how.
Expenso stores the following information that you enter while using the Extension:
This is financial tracking information you provide. The Extension does not ask for your name, email address, passwords, payment card numbers, or location.
All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome’s
chrome.storage.local API. Data is tied to the Chrome profile where the Extension
is installed.
We do not operate a backend server for Expenso, and we do not transmit your expense data to our servers.
You may optionally export a JSON backup file and import it on another Chrome profile. That file is created and read only on your device at your request. We do not receive a copy.
We do not sell, rent, or transfer your Expenso data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising, credit scoring, or lending decisions.
Expenso requests the storage permission solely to save and read the local data
described above so the Extension can function offline.
Data remains on your device until you delete expenses/categories in the Extension, clear extension storage, or uninstall the Extension. Uninstalling Expenso removes its local data for that Chrome profile.
Expenso is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Extension after updates means you accept the revised policy.
